You don’t get any significant stat boosts with rare candy. You’d be better off leveling normally. I mean, unless you want your pokemon to be half as strong, anyway.
As long as you don’t boost them to 100, you can rare-candy all you want. The important thing is getting the effort values up before 100. (as after 100, there are no more levels for any EV stat boosts to be applied.)
Rare candies produce the exact same effect as leveling from XP, without the EVs that you would have got earning that XP.
Sends out EV trained Galvantula/Jolteon/Light Ball Pikachu/Zekrom/Electabuzz/Manectric/Electrode/Zebstrika.
These are naturally faster than a Gyarados killing Gyarados with STAB Electric moves before it even moves. Rotom and Eelektross are immune to Ground moves (Eelektross doesn’t even have a weakness anymore).
1 Dragon Dance? Choice Scarf!
I’d rather open a Day Care Center. To earn $100 (because dollars are fo’real) for every single day a Pokemon Trainer leaves his little (od bigger too) Pokemon to have me look for them when they play or breed most of time? Business of the year, old chaps!
Well, that would still be a lot of money… plus if business got bad, steal the hundreds of Ditto that people leave with you because they wouldn’t have enough money to take them out, lol.
Also, the generally accepted way Pokemon Day Cares are priced is a 100 flat holding fee, plus 100 for every level the pokemon gained while. I mean sure, if people leave their low-levels with you, you minght make a quick buck, but if people start leaving their high levels…. they don’t level up very fast.
This meme actually makes sense as a metaphor. Some people on here are (somewhat) smarter than others, but kinda underachievers. Magikarp evolves into Gyarados, but you have to painstakingly grind it to lv. 20.
Following this logic, I would have a Stoutland, a Houndour, and the ghost of both a Delcatty and an Umbreon following me. Oh, yes, and a barrel full of Finneon.
…Not too bad a start, actually.
Following this logic I would have 2 Herdier, 4 Lillipup (born last month), a few hundreds of Pidgey (my father has lot’s of pigeons), 2 Minccino, 2 Meowth.
So, I would have a Magikarp/Gyarados, a Zubat/Golbat, a Persian, a Rattata, some common bug type and a Delcatty.
Not good type coverage (problems with fighting and rock, but if I choose a Butterfree with Psychic, Giga Drain and give the Gyarados EQ, I should be fine.
My Butterfree “Carter” after Aaron Carter knew Aerial Ace, Psychic, Sleep Powder, and then either Dream Eater, Silver Wind, or Solarbeam……I can’t remember which. He was an absolute TANK and saved my whole team in Nuzlocke just as much as my starter, “Kuwabara” the Blastoise
Probably I would be a secret traveling champion… Charizard, Dragonite, Jolteon, Gyarados, Mismagius and Nidoking is a very hard team to beat, given the right moves and strategy, you can be completely obliterated in seconds.
my Butterfree “Carter,” Sandslash “Gir,” Pidgeot “Pippin,” Blastoise “Kuwabara,” Electrode “Astley,” and Primeape “Trunks” survived a Nuzlocke run together and beat my rival, “Stalin.” Pretty sure they can do anything.
And an EV trained Jolteon is still faster and hits harder. Also, there’s a new item called Air Balloon that grants temporary Ground immunity until it gets hit.
Actually, Foresight ensures the next move hits and negates the barrier of Wonderguard. A similar move is Gastro Acid.
However if that is invalid, any pokemon with Mold Breaker or a similar ability-nullifying ability would nullify Wonderguard and hence make Spiritomb a normal spiritomb…
The Hitmons, Machamp, Lucario, Conkledurr, Medicham and Hariyama can learn Foresight and hit them with STAB Fighting moves.
Pokémon with Scrappy can ignore the Fighting type immunity.
The ability Mold Breaker, Turboblaze and Teravoltage outright ignore Wonder Guard. Wielders include Pinsir, Rampardos, Haxorus, Reshiram, and Zekrom.
Moves that change abilities make them vulnerable to neutral attacks.
The move Soak changes their typing to Water, allowing Grass or Electric move to strike.
If Cofagrigus is hit with a contact move, your ability is changed to Mummy.
Then there’s residual damage from Toxic/Burn, Sandstorm/Hail, confusion damage, Leech Seed and if it come to this, Struggle recoil.
Invulnerable? Not even close.
Denied. I’d have a varied team. Of what specifically? Darned if I know, there’s so many good pokemon to choose from.
I trained Gyarados once, but I won’t again (even if 4th gen fixed his stat problem by giving him better moves). Especially not when my Raichu could waste him in his sleep.
i would have an eevee and see if i could evolve it into a new eeveelution, and if i cant ( or i dont put in any effort ) then jolteon or leafeon would be pretty awesome.
Clearly I’d have all mewtwos and dragons and use extra pokemon because if they were real, I’d use all the pokemon and win at everything and lol magicarps
This is a metaphor for the sheer banality of the vast majority of the population of the real world? lol, what is a metafore? Never heard of that pokemon.
Definitely not First. (Probably)
Later the guy with 6 Gyarados (just need enough rare candy)
You can be shred to tears by my Jolteon.
You don’t get any significant stat boosts with rare candy. You’d be better off leveling normally. I mean, unless you want your pokemon to be half as strong, anyway.
Or evolve them, THEN train them right. Same result really.
Very true, though I prefer to max my EVs before using any rare candy. Just paranoid that way I guess.
Even then, can’t you get EV boosts by putting the Pokémon in a PC box and taking it back out?
Yeah, but only in Gen I and II.
Wrong. It works on all Gens.
6 potential gyarados….. Sounds good
Sorry, I don’t have the money to buy them from the guy who sales them .
doesn’t matter have Pokemon
no i would have 6 zubats…
6 gardeviors… yeah
rule 34 we meet again, make sure their all female unless your into shemale -_-
Doesn’t matter, had sex. LOL
-_-
You do realize there’s boy Gardevoirs right?
Not anymore. Since generation 4 all Gardeviors have been female, with the male Kirlias evolving into Gallades.
No, male can still evolve into gardevoir.
Check it out if you’re in doubt.
And even if they did change those evolution mechanics – PalPark and PokeTransfer would mean some of them CAN be male.
Getting 1 ralts is hard enough.
True story. I agree but in the end my Gallade and Gardevoir were excellent Pokémon.
Then you become the person with 6 gyardos, and then everyone who laughed at you runs in fear.
*has a speedy jolteon* problem?
Well played… but if everyone else has six magikarps how did you find a jolteon?
Find an eevee, get it to evolve with a Whateverstone (i never get any further than the first Elite Four member), and there you go. I think.
The names are almost self-explanatory…Thunderstone.
*has a speed-trained Gyrados with Bulldoze* Problem? Or if First-Gen, we could take the speed-trained Gyrados and have him/her with Hyper Beam.
I have 6 lvl 99 magikarp and I beat the elite 4 with them, true story.
You must be awesome.
Not true… I would be the guy kicking magikarps
I’d rather open a Day Care Center. To earn $100 (because dollars are fo’real) for every single day a Pokemon Trainer leaves his little (od bigger too) Pokemon to have me look for them when they play or breed most of time? Business of the year, old chaps!
It’s a hundred poke-dollars which maybe in yen since lemonade is 350 poke-dollars. 350 yen = 3.50 U.S. dollars.
Well, that would still be a lot of money… plus if business got bad, steal the hundreds of Ditto that people leave with you because they wouldn’t have enough money to take them out, lol.
I figured that too at an early age before I knew that one yen is roughly a penny.
*while under your care
This meme actually makes sense as a metaphor. Some people on here are (somewhat) smarter than others, but kinda underachievers. Magikarp evolves into Gyarados, but you have to painstakingly grind it to lv. 20.
Worth it. So worth it.
Buuuutttt you could keep the eggs.
“What? No, there was no breeding going on here”
FREE POKEMANZ
but if Pokemon where real, your pets would be pokemon, and if that was the case I’d have 4 Meowths a Houndour, and a Rapidash :p
Following this logic, I would have a Stoutland, a Houndour, and the ghost of both a Delcatty and an Umbreon following me. Oh, yes, and a barrel full of Finneon.
…Not too bad a start, actually.
following this logic i would be getting a houndour in a couple of weeks and i would have the ghost of like 15-20
Poor animals D:
Also, you can’t have more than 6 with you.
And this explains why Ratata is the mouse pokemon.
I’d have a glameow and a house crawling with spinaraks
I guess I have a Persian, a Mightyena, and my brother’s Herdier.
I would have a growlithe, houndour, and a growlithe/houndour mixed breed. Awwwyeah.
I’d have a Pachisiru or two… at least until the buggers vacate my attic!
Following this logic I would have 2 Herdier, 4 Lillipup (born last month), a few hundreds of Pidgey (my father has lot’s of pigeons), 2 Minccino, 2 Meowth.
i got a geodude…
^This
If following this logic, I would have a Lillipup, a Herdier, and a Trubbish…
6 Magikarp? Heh, I’d just bludgeon other Pokemon with them until they evolved into Gyarados. Then I’d tie Magnemites to them to give them power armor.
A manly guy doing some manly things, I see.
Just dont lose you license by letting your gyarados eat all the pikachus.
And don’t tease them with portal guns. It’s just mean
And then all your Gyarados have problems because of all the blunt force trauma inflicted as magikarp.
I’d be the guy with 6 level 100 Wobbuffets. Problem?
You’d be a mother puncher.
Level 100 Wobbuffets? Use ALL the non-attacking moves!
…’til Taunt
Counter and Mirror Coat are unaffected.
….I’d be the person with all cat pokemon for pets…
6 Magikarps? Still better than 6 Feebas

If pokemon were real, you still wouldn’t have 2 parents.
But if pokemon are real, then at ten years old you can leave home to raise them. That means half the people on this site couldn’t go yet.
I see what you did there…
If pokemon were real, there wouldn’t e so many people on the internet
I agree. I would be out raising my vulpix and eevee all day.
Nice avatar pic, by the way. It looks familiar.
I like gyarados, but i wouldn’t have one… must be expensive to feed a giant dragon / water serpent / fish ….
No, no, just make sure noone escapes and you’ll be fine.
Nope, I hate finishing.
fishing* lol. I’d want ghost types, no need for food.
and I would be the hoenn region champion
I’d have a Zubat and a Snorelax.
They’d be fun to cuddle and love for ever and ever.
Cuddle zubat? You sure you know which one zubat is, right? Also, better hope snorlax doesn’t role over
… -_- Buddy I met the creator of Pokemon before you knew to put the cards in a sleeve. In 2001 I told him he should make a electric squirrel pokemon.
I will cuddle my Zubat, I love the eyeless bat pokemon.
Cool story bro.
Changed my life.
I bet women love it when you tell them that.
I’m a Straight Female.
So yeah
So why are you on the internets instead of the kitchen?
I believe it would be the guy with 6 Metapod that are holding everstones and only know harden.
Sorta like the metrosexual hipster in Smosh’s “Pokemon in Real Life?”
idk. i just think that a lvl 100 “harden-only” team of Metapod (maybe kakuna too) would be more annoying than a team of magikarp.
I’d have a Seaking and either a Blastoise or a Carracosta. I see a Water-type Gym Leader job in my future!
I’d have a squirtle, a jolteon, an evee, and a house crawling with treeckos and politoads.
If pokemon were real, we’d probably all be dead.
^This
…but… I’m a girl… I can’t be “the guy with”… I’d have to be “The girl with…”
Girls on memebase….?
you’re gonna be the guy with and you’ll like it!
Wait…..They have a computer in that kitchen?
There are fridges with televisions in them, so it wouldn’t suprise me.
Probably I would be a secret traveling champion… Charizard, Dragonite, Jolteon, Gyarados, Mismagius and Nidoking is a very hard team to beat, given the right moves and strategy, you can be completely obliterated in seconds.
Battles in real life would be more like the anime. Except shouting orders wouldn’t be effective. It’d be like training an MMA fighter.
You just made me imagine an MMA fight between fighting types. Poliwrath and Machoke.
my Butterfree “Carter,” Sandslash “Gir,” Pidgeot “Pippin,” Blastoise “Kuwabara,” Electrode “Astley,” and Primeape “Trunks” survived a Nuzlocke run together and beat my rival, “Stalin.” Pretty sure they can do anything.
I stink at fishing, I would be the hiker guy with 5 geodudes and a graveler.
Hey! I wouldn’t be the guy with 6 Magikarp
…no way I’d get that many.
if pokemon were real, we’d all be long dead.
Am I the only one thinking these tumblr posts suck? Btw, Gyarados learns EQ (yes, it’s slower than Jolteon, but just EV Train it in speed)
And an EV trained Jolteon is still faster and hits harder. Also, there’s a new item called Air Balloon that grants temporary Ground immunity until it gets hit.
Yes, but I thought we were talking in-game here ._. No pokes holding air balloon or with any EVs in-game (at least on the AI’s side)
No-one has pointed out the incorrect pluralisation of Magikarp.
I guess I will.
It’s “MAGIKARP” not “MAGIKARPS”.
six spiritombs with wonderguard. problem?
Foresight and Fighting moves. Solution?
As I recall, wonderguard blocks all non-supereffective moves, so that wouldn’t work.

Then there’s residual damage from Toxic/Burn, Sandstorm/Hail, confusion damage, Leech Seed and if it come to this, Struggle recoil.
Invulnerable? Not even close.
Uh… it’s TeraVOLT.
Since to apply Wonderguard to Spiritomb you would need to hack, there is in fact a problem.
Or are you saying you have captured one of the Poke-Gods and hence can warp reality to your whim just like the rest of the noobs would claim?
you cant’t get Spiritombs with wonderguard, stupid.
Denied. I’d have a varied team. Of what specifically? Darned if I know, there’s so many good pokemon to choose from.
I trained Gyarados once, but I won’t again (even if 4th gen fixed his stat problem by giving him better moves). Especially not when my Raichu could waste him in his sleep.
i would have an eevee and see if i could evolve it into a new eeveelution, and if i cant ( or i dont put in any effort ) then jolteon or leafeon would be pretty awesome.
if each magikarp is 500z,
6 magikarps would be 3000z.
Well, sounds good for me. haha
and seeing as it’s in yen it would be 30 bucks. 30 bucks for 6 possibly gyarados…
As of today’s currency, that would actually be 39.08$
Whatever, whatever…
I dewott I want
*facepalm*
all Pokemon names are already plural, the “s” is completely un-nessicary
Just get a Tropius. Infinite fruit, airborne transport and it’s a bloody dinosaur!
Thats the guy on the Bridge in the east of Gen. 1 <3
Actually… six Pidgeys. This city is full of pigeons, but getting a fish here would be butt-pain.
You going to plug your Action Replay into the ground?
Clearly I’d have all mewtwos and dragons and use extra pokemon because if they were real, I’d use all the pokemon and win at everything and lol magicarps
This is a metaphor for the sheer banality of the vast majority of the population of the real world? lol, what is a metafore? Never heard of that pokemon.
I would be the guy with a shiny Lopunny… I think you know why…
and all 6 of mine will end up being red Gyaradoses (Gyaradosi?) *evil laugh*
No i would have a Rattata because Rattatas are top percent
I found this one guy in Gold who truly did try to fight my with six Magikarps, I beat them all with my Typhlosion for s**ts and giggles.
I’d be the girl with five Goletts and a Golurk. My team would be made of robots and awesome. XD
I’d be the guy with 6 snorunts, because Snorunt and Glalie are badass… Couldn’t say as much from the female thing, but I’d still take it
Actually it would be 6 Paras with 20 others in the storage box. Why? Because I had the pokeballs to do it.
