  1. dylan0314 says:

maby water pokemon take moisture from the air for their attacks?

    • Kimura says:

At no other point in the series has Pokemon followed the Laws of Thermodynamics. Why would they start now?

      • Jim Johnson says:

Or at least letting out their water types into an area that is inherently dehydrating is something that they MIGHT find harmful. Just a thought.

        • VIENNA SAUSAGE says:

Water is super effective on both rock and ground…

          • Jim Johnson says:

Ah, but harsh sunlight weakens water.

            • There are no sunlight type pokemon/attacks, your argument is invalid.

              • ThePlatypirate says:

The move Sunny Day weakens the power of water type attacks and boosts the power of fire. Also, there are several other sunlight-based attacks – SolarBeam, Synthesis, Morning Sun and Growth. SolarBeam especially is devastating to water types and is able to skip it’s charging turn during the harsh sunlight induced by Sunny Day. Also, there are three Pokemon with the species “Sun Pokemon”: Espeon, Sunflora, and Volcarona. In addition, the abilities Flower Gift, Chlorophyll, Solar Power and Leaf Guard all boost grass type Pokemon’s durability and/or power during harsh sunlight.
You have been out-nerded. Your argument is invalid.

    • Hoenn_Jenny_10 says:

But mudkip/marshtomp water would be muddy

    • Kvet says:

      You’re true.
They explain it in an episode.
I think it happened when one of them was unable to use its water attacks.

  2. Matt teh great :P says:

Ash: maybe we whiz and drink it?

    Guy eating cereal: WTF BOOM!
    ————————————————————————
Brock: lets cut a cactus and drink until we are high!

cereal guy: … WTF they don’t use water types ever that would be a good time! (bombs 4kids

  3. The water that Water-type Pokemon produce may not be drinkable.

    • SkylarAlan says:

      That was my thought also.

      • Um.... says:

if squirtle’s water is fully ionised pure water then it isn’t drinkable by anyone because it can dehydrate people and be poisonous to health, also the fact that water attacks can be harmful to so many pokemon types even the ones that aren’t week to water types could mean the water isn’t just harmful due to the force of the water attack.

        • Watchmaker says:

Deionized or distilled water doesn’t dehydrate you, it creates an electrolyte imbalance, sort of the opposite. It’s the same principle as when that woman died of drinking too much water in a contest. As long as they have some salty snacks, they would be fine.

    • ezwelchman says:

i was gonna say it may be similar to salt-water =P

  4. bigL says:

would you like do drink some others drool?

  5. P.D says:

Sure, but who want to drink something that comes out of an animal’s mouth?

  6. Y U KON says:

I seem to remember this happening at least 3 times in the series, and once they did use the water pokemon. if not to use their water they used them to find it. I guess the other 2 times they forgot, like how ash always forgets what each pokemons weaknesses are, and uses pikachu on onyx.

  7. ash says:

I was thinking the exact same thing, and actually, i think this is the movie, in one of the movies they come across like a bubble of water that water pokémon made, and max goes can we have some water and takes some….

  8. Majora says:

Even if you don’t drink the water from the Pokémon, you could still use it as a way to keep yourself cool.

What could possibly be harmful about a Water Gun to the face?

Then again, Rain Dance would probably be better in this case, due to there being both shade and hydration.

  9. what if the water attacks is salt water.

  10. scottahemi says:

but watergun is basily like their spit D: isn’t it?

though they did one use watergun to make rain to rehydrate a bunch of chinchou that where migrating on land.

  11. ____________________________ says:

Water type moves = saliva when they come out of a Water type’s mouth.

  12. T's says:

Probably their water is just H2O…. without the minerals needed to quench thirst…..

  13. Daniruu says:

Did anyone not see the Chinchou episode? They used water Pokemon to keep these guys hydrated. http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/7/7a/Chinchou_walking.png

  14. YtR says:

Opens mouth, water vomes out. YOU CAN’T EXPLAIN THAT.

  15. Yoshi says:

Them getting hit with water wouldn’t be bad
it’s happened a lot in the show
    Mudkip used watergun on May
and same goes with Lotad using watergun on Brock
    etc etc

  16. nick says:

i dont think i’d drink water that was regurgitated by squirtle

  17. Krystianna says:

Apparently water coming from pokemon has a magical ingredient that makes it burn.

  18. john says:

even if the water from the pokemon were undrinkable they could use a ground type to dig out a miniature dam then have a water type fill it. then they could use a fire type to boil the water to purify it. they could use the open pokeballs as vapor catchment held together by a grass types vines and leaves

  19. TheCultist says:

Most important is actually: That water has to be produced from somwhere! Thus, the Watertypes are in danger of dehydrating if they gave all their water to the trainers without a source to refill.

  20. Nathan says:

They were a lot smarter in the first season…

  21. KrissRoxx - Vice Presidon't of teh Internetz says:

It’s the same for when they get cold.. they never use their fire types as they walk through it.

    • domthedominator says:

Ash did at least once… in Snow Way Out!, he used Charmander’s flame to keep the small cave they were in warm, until Charmander became exhausted and was recalled.

  22. kyle says:

omg i just watched that episodes a few weeks ago and though the same thing haha

  23. miguel says:

maybe they didnt thought about using the water type pkemon, they ara all 10 and max is like 8 i think, i dont know brock’s age x3

  24. Billaaaaaay says:

actually if anyone remembers… in the Johto series they had the same episode… and they’re like “hey we all have water pokemon, why don’t we use them?” and they do… and it works… just saying…

  25. trololol says:

They should have drank their own urine.
