The move Sunny Day weakens the power of water type attacks and boosts the power of fire. Also, there are several other sunlight-based attacks – SolarBeam, Synthesis, Morning Sun and Growth. SolarBeam especially is devastating to water types and is able to skip it’s charging turn during the harsh sunlight induced by Sunny Day. Also, there are three Pokemon with the species “Sun Pokemon”: Espeon, Sunflora, and Volcarona. In addition, the abilities Flower Gift, Chlorophyll, Solar Power and Leaf Guard all boost grass type Pokemon’s durability and/or power during harsh sunlight.
You have been out-nerded. Your argument is invalid.
if squirtle’s water is fully ionised pure water then it isn’t drinkable by anyone because it can dehydrate people and be poisonous to health, also the fact that water attacks can be harmful to so many pokemon types even the ones that aren’t week to water types could mean the water isn’t just harmful due to the force of the water attack.
Deionized or distilled water doesn’t dehydrate you, it creates an electrolyte imbalance, sort of the opposite. It’s the same principle as when that woman died of drinking too much water in a contest. As long as they have some salty snacks, they would be fine.
I seem to remember this happening at least 3 times in the series, and once they did use the water pokemon. if not to use their water they used them to find it. I guess the other 2 times they forgot, like how ash always forgets what each pokemons weaknesses are, and uses pikachu on onyx.
I was thinking the exact same thing, and actually, i think this is the movie, in one of the movies they come across like a bubble of water that water pokémon made, and max goes can we have some water and takes some….
Them getting hit with water wouldn’t be bad
it’s happened a lot in the show
Mudkip used watergun on May
and same goes with Lotad using watergun on Brock
etc etc
even if the water from the pokemon were undrinkable they could use a ground type to dig out a miniature dam then have a water type fill it. then they could use a fire type to boil the water to purify it. they could use the open pokeballs as vapor catchment held together by a grass types vines and leaves
Most important is actually: That water has to be produced from somwhere! Thus, the Watertypes are in danger of dehydrating if they gave all their water to the trainers without a source to refill.
Ash did at least once… in Snow Way Out!, he used Charmander’s flame to keep the small cave they were in warm, until Charmander became exhausted and was recalled.
actually if anyone remembers… in the Johto series they had the same episode… and they’re like “hey we all have water pokemon, why don’t we use them?” and they do… and it works… just saying…
maby water pokemon take moisture from the air for their attacks?
At no other point in the series has Pokemon followed the Laws of Thermodynamics. Why would they start now?
Or at least letting out their water types into an area that is inherently dehydrating is something that they MIGHT find harmful. Just a thought.
Water is super effective on both rock and ground…
Ah, but harsh sunlight weakens water.
There are no sunlight type pokemon/attacks, your argument is invalid.

But mudkip/marshtomp water would be muddy
You’re true.
They explain it in an episode.
I think it happened when one of them was unable to use its water attacks.
“You’re true”?????????
alright, I’ve seen enough.
Ash: maybe we whiz and drink it?
Guy eating cereal: WTF BOOM!
————————————————————————
Brock: lets cut a cactus and drink until we are high!
cereal guy: … WTF they don’t use water types ever that would be a good time! (bombs 4kids
It’s not 4kids’ fault, it’s a plot hole, and it probably was on purpose since they think only kids watch it and they wouldn’t notice.
Pokemon has more plotholes than Bleach
As any anime fan can tell you, It’s ALWAYS 4kids’ fault =D
Called rice balls with F$@#%&ing JELLY DONUTS
Sorry for grammatical error
Drink cactus juice! It’ll quench ya!
its the quenchiest!
It’s a… GIANT MUSHROOM! MAYBE IT’S FRIENDLY!
FRIENDLY MUSHROOM! FRIENDLY MUSHROOM! *le bowing*
Who lit Toph on fire?
bear grylls approves
WARNING: Cacti are most likely poisonous.
*DO NOT DRINK FROM CACTI*
if they eat cactus juice, then that means theyll have to cut open a cacnea or a cacturne to do so… WTF!!!
The water that Water-type Pokemon produce may not be drinkable.
That was my thought also.
if squirtle’s water is fully ionised pure water then it isn’t drinkable by anyone because it can dehydrate people and be poisonous to health, also the fact that water attacks can be harmful to so many pokemon types even the ones that aren’t week to water types could mean the water isn’t just harmful due to the force of the water attack.

i was gonna say it may be similar to salt-water =P
would you like do drink some others drool?
I would if I was stranded in a desert with no other source of water
Sure, but who want to drink something that comes out of an animal’s mouth?
does that mean that the “water gun” is actually “saliva gun”?
It is that or a painfull death from dehydratation, which you pick?
ask bear grills
Drinking saliva, then.
Bear Grills would drink pee.
Honey (Produces by bees with their mouth and saliva)
Milk (Comes out of cows, goats … uder)
Eggs (Comes out of the cloaca (or ass) of birds)
Caviar
…
I saw a video where a guy explained that milk from cows has pus and that eggs are basiclly chicken mentruation ejecta.
LOL, musta been a Peta Commercial :p
Nope, it was a vegan talking to a class.
And he was right actually.
So, what? We eat stuff that comes out of other animals that also comes out of humans.
Therefore, cannibalism is further justified!

And on another note, what with the title…he got rid of squirtle like 4 seasons ago…in the jhoto journeys…
I don’t know when this episode was. But maybe did May already got her squirtle of prof. Oak.
No its the movie, pokemon ranger and the guardian of the sea or temple of the sea
Even if you don’t drink the water from the Pokémon, you could still use it as a way to keep yourself cool.
What could possibly be harmful about a Water Gun to the face?
Then again, Rain Dance would probably be better in this case, due to there being both shade and hydration.
They could use water gun in the air, its not like it has 3 secs- to hit something or it just disappears
what if the water attacks is salt water.
but watergun is basily like their spit D: isn’t it?
though they did one use watergun to make rain to rehydrate a bunch of chinchou that where migrating on land.
Water type moves = saliva when they come out of a Water type’s mouth.
What about staryu, starmie, poliwhirl, poliwrath … ?
Do they have MOUTHS? NO! So they DON’T COUNT!
Well where do they get their water…from
They produce their saliva in their mouths naturally, ashhole!
The Poli’s don’t get water gun, and I’m pretty sure Staryu doesn’t either – they get bubble and bubblebeam. I could be wrong, though.
No, Staryus get water gun. Apologies.
and Hydropump
or buizels water pulse! or aqua tail! those don’t form from their mouths, maybe they form from water vapor in the air?
Works for me.
Probably their water is just H2O…. without the minerals needed to quench thirst…..
Wow this is stupid. H2O is what quenches thirst.
Did anyone not see the Chinchou episode? They used water Pokemon to keep these guys hydrated. http://cdn.bulbagarden.net/media/upload/7/7a/Chinchou_walking.png
Opens mouth, water vomes out. YOU CAN’T EXPLAIN THAT.
comes*. Sorry.
ALIENS
Remember, this is Poke’mon we’re talking about here. You mean Elgyems!
Them getting hit with water wouldn’t be bad
it’s happened a lot in the show
Mudkip used watergun on May
and same goes with Lotad using watergun on Brock
etc etc
i dont think i’d drink water that was regurgitated by squirtle
Apparently water coming from pokemon has a magical ingredient that makes it burn.
even if the water from the pokemon were undrinkable they could use a ground type to dig out a miniature dam then have a water type fill it. then they could use a fire type to boil the water to purify it. they could use the open pokeballs as vapor catchment held together by a grass types vines and leaves
Are you an engineer?
Well, he solves practical problems.
Most important is actually: That water has to be produced from somwhere! Thus, the Watertypes are in danger of dehydrating if they gave all their water to the trainers without a source to refill.
Most water Pokemon spray out WAY more water than their bodies could ever hold – even in dry areas.
They were a lot smarter in the first season…
It’s the same for when they get cold.. they never use their fire types as they walk through it.
Ash did at least once… in Snow Way Out!, he used Charmander’s flame to keep the small cave they were in warm, until Charmander became exhausted and was recalled.
omg i just watched that episodes a few weeks ago and though the same thing haha
me too it made me so happy
maybe they didnt thought about using the water type pkemon, they ara all 10 and max is like 8 i think, i dont know brock’s age x3
dammit 4kids
actually if anyone remembers… in the Johto series they had the same episode… and they’re like “hey we all have water pokemon, why don’t we use them?” and they do… and it works… just saying…
I was wondering if someone was gonna point this out.
They should have drank their own urine.
