That’s what’s being bothering me too… along with having people (other than you) paired up with legendaries. As for time travel explaining this I can’t figure out a situation in which celebi or dialga would meet up with mewtwo of all legendaries ad for some reason send his cloned ass to the past.
Maybe they have other people with legendaries because back then Pokemon and people were closer. I mean Ho-oh used to live in Ecruteak city until the tower was destroyed.
Pretty sure Mewtwo was created long after Ho-oh left the tower.
You misssed the point of my post. I was talking about why other people have legendaries. As to why Mewtwo is there I have no idea.
Some legendaries (zekrom, groudon, dialga) existed in the past but zekrom and reshiram are, historicaly, one of the new ones (100 years) I dunno about japan’s history periods.

Simple. Mewtwo traveled back in time by breaking the fourth wall, getting to level 101, and catching trainers. He then wound up in ponyville. After beating the mane six in all of their strengths, he was allowed to go back to his dimension, where he was weakens by the intra-dimensional travel. Thus, he fused with mew, the side effects of which created a supernova explosion. He was sent t into the fourth wall, shattering it, and ending up in samurai times.
Or the developers f*cked up with him again.

While the game has figures from ancient japan, and is based around it, this game takes place in some alternate world where these ancient japanese figures appear in the pokemon world, with some region that isn’t as advanced technologically speaking, thus having mewtwo travel there from kanto.

Nobunaga was an important lord in japanesse history, we planned on taking over all of japan.
This version of Nobunaga, and the name of the game itself (Nobunaga’s ambition) references Samurai Warriors, where Nobunaga is a playable character, and there’s a chapter by that name.

It’s a play on Japanese history. The characters that were listed are historically real except that they threw in Pokemon. This is as close as we’re going to get with seeing Pokemon in real life, we can actually play through history with them. If you don’t know what the game consists of, either buy it to find out, or don’t if you believe it isn’t worth the money. Just stop whining about how you’ve never heard of it before.

Nobunaga’s Ambition is a turn-based strategy RPG. So it’s probably not going to be exactly like Samurai/Dynasty Warriors. It is, however, from the same makers as Dynasty Warriors, so we can hope. If it is action-type game play like D.W., I’ll probably import it. If its the turn-based one I’m not so sure.
Am I the only one who hates the idea of this? Just bring me Grey version…

New Pokémon Game – Pokémon + Nobunaga’s Ambition
Dengeki Online has revealed a brand new Pokémon game for release next year. This game Pokémon + Nobunaga’s Ambition (ポケモン プラス ノブナガの野望 ) is due for release in Japan in Spring 2012 on Nintendo DS. Not much is known about this game yet but it appears to be an RPG game, similar to the Nobunaga Ambition games set in old Japan which are Turn-Based Strategy RPGs and labelled as a simulation. This game is a crossover between Pokémon and Nobunaga Ambition where you have to take over Japan gradually, but how Pokémon ties in, is not yet known. Details are being added as we speak. This game is set within the Ranse Region

Like the main games, you can select either a male or female heroine. They both start with Eevee
Nobunaga is the main warlord who has Zekrom as his partner
Oichi is a character who helps you in the game, paired with Jigglypuff
Mitsuhude is a character teamed with Articuno
Shingen is a character teamed with Groudon
Kenshin is a character teamed with Mewtwo
More information is promised in January, indicating it’ll be in CoroCoro and possibly be the game CoroCoro revealed

I have heard people say pokemon generations 3-5 were stupid and unoriginal, and yet I have scrolled through these comments and yet half of you say this would be a good game?

I’m cautiously optimistic about this. I currently see the R/S/E remake or the “Grey version” as a foregone conclusion, so an out-of-the-blue announcement like this is a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed Mystery Dungeon (Red Rescue Team, anyway), so a Pokemon game with alternate gameplay isn’t totally alien to me.
On the other hand, Nintendo is notoriously tight-fisted with their franchises. If they can play nice with these other guys, I can see this as a potential purchase in…whenever it comes out.
This just doesn’t look interesting to me. If the gameplay works like I think it will (judging from the clips in the video) then this will be a game that I’ll be very happy to pass up on. On top of that, getting stuck with an Eevee is something I don’t care too much for. Eevee is one of my least favorite pokemon and always has been.
I will admit though that the deviation from traditional pokemon play is nice, this particular deviation is just not my cup of tea.
